If you’re capable, thoughtful, and used to making things work, it can be unsettling to reach a point where clarity slips and decisions feel harder than they should.
From the outside, life or work may look fine. But internally, you’re carrying questions that won’t quite settle. You know something needs to shift, you’re just not sure what, or how to move forward without creating more disruption than necessary.
You manage to deal with everything else, but this feels different. So you think it must be you. You turn blame inward. Why can't you just figure this out?
Maybe it's a lack of motivation, or laziness you think.
But when you have so much going on and no time to pause, to think, to consider you, you lose touch with yourself and find yourself stuck.
That’s where my work comes in.
I support highly capable people at points of change or decision to reconnection with themselves so they can think clearly, make confident choices, and move forward with momentum.

I’m Ella Hutchings – a Life Balance and Career Coach, and I'm here to walk alongside you. To support you to find the answers you need, put the plans in place and gain the confidence to make it happen.
With over 25 years of experience in business management, coaching, leadership, and HR (CIPD qualified), I blend deep listening with action-focused, practical support to help you create a life that reflects your whole self.
I am a member of the Association of Coaches (AC) and am a qualified, certified International Coaching Federation (ICF) Coach.
I know what it’s like to be capable and experienced, and still reach a point where thinking things through alone just isn’t enough. I've been there and am passionate about wanting to help others navigate this path.
I am mum to two neurodiverse teens, have undiagnosed ADHD myself, and have personal experience of depression and anxiety.
I have 3 cats (I had 6 at one point when we had kittens!), live with my wonderfully supportive husband of 25 years Lee (whom I love very much but we've had our fair share of 'issues' to contend with!) in Winnersh, Berkshire.
I love reading a wide variety of fiction and personal development books, watching crime dramas (serious to laughable) and walks in nature.

I understand the tension between wanting progress and protecting your wellbeing and work holistically to consider your whole life.
Many of my clients are used to being reliable, competent and thoughtful. They’re not looking for motivation or fixing – they want clarity, perspective, and a way forward that fits their real life and work.
That’s why my coaching blends:
The aim is not to reinvent your life – it’s to help you make the decisions and changes you want, whatever they are, confidently and sustainably.
I work in line with my values which are Empathy, Connection, Integrity, Fairness, Curiosity, and Authenticity. These are at my core.

“Ella has helped me to take that first step, bringing me a sense of clarity and the confidence to move forward.”
Sophie, Power Hour Life Coaching Session Client
“Ella has taken me on a journey of discovery and been a fantastic support in my career returning to work after maternity leave.”
Katherine, Career Clarity Coaching Client

While both life coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas, while life coaches focus on helping individuals to move forwards, to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance in my coaching practice. I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality.
